Growing Meat Consumption Drives the Market Growth

The most popular crop for livestock feeding is forage sorghum that is used as silage. In the U.S., the average meat consumption has dropped by 10% in the last few years. Consumers have become very conscious about their health and sensitive towards the animals urging other people to lead a meat-free life. Although  Vegan meals have been on the rise, there is still a large part of the world population consuming meat extensively. The total production of meat today is almost four times it was fifty years ago; the total production in the year 2013 was almost 320 million tonnes.

According to the world Data, the global average per capita meat consumption has gone up almost 20 kilograms since 1961. Undoubtedly, the rise in meat consumption has led to a rise in the animal feed market, which in turn has escalated the sorghum syrup market as it is a significant source of food for fauna feed.
