Position Overview:

As a Team Lead at Straits Research, you will be at the forefront of driving strategies within your domain. Reporting directly to the Head of Research and the management, you will have a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our firm. You will be entrusted with the complete P&L for your team, giving you the autonomy to make strategic decisions that drive business growth and success.

In addition to leading your team, you will also be responsible for client conversion and management. This means that you will have the opportunity to build and nurture relationships with our clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded. Your ability to understand and anticipate client needs will be crucial in driving client satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the entire P&L of your team, ensuring profitability and growth.

- Conduct market research and forecast future market trends and scenarios.

- Finalize report topics for syndicated research studies and publish them as per planned calendar.

- Execute consulting assignments and write proposals and articles.

- Proactively comment on market dynamics by networking with industry participants.

- Develop and monitor the quality of reports.

- Handle and mentor a team of Research Analysts, Sr. Associates, and Associates.

- Attend client meetings and presentations. Drive client conversions, client success, and satisfaction, building and nurturing relationships with key clients.

- Connect with industry experts in your domain, creating a network of reliable sources for primary research.

- Host webinars and serve as the main domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) in events and exhibitions, showcasing our expertise and thought leadership.

- Drive thought leadership programs, positioning our firm as a leader in the industry.

- Drive content structure and add more value to our deliveries, ensuring that our reports and consulting services provide actionable insights and strategic guidance to our clients.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth.

- Drive interaction with sales to maximize retainer time and seek new business opportunities.

- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through effective program management and strategic initiatives.

- Best Practices: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

- Team Utilization: Optimize team resources and ensure efficient utilization of talent.

- Client Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by delivering high-quality, timely, and relevant insights.

- Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our research studies.

- P&L Management: Oversee the entire P&L of your team, ensuring profitability and growth.


- Master’s Degree (Preferred) or Bachelor's equivalent in Science/International Business or related field with minimum 4 years’ experience in their domain

- Experience managing highly effective teams

- Demonstrated client presentation skills

- Coaching and mentoring experience, prioritize ongoing team and individual development

- Strong bias towards high-quality production

- Integrity & hardworking

- Formulate technology roadmaps; recommend productization plan / new business opportunities

- Should have worked with market research firms in conducting primary research and gathering relevant data necessary for research

- Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills

- Exposure to Data Modelling using Frameworks, Management Models

- Should have good analytical skills and be aware of the different research methodologies in use

- Should ensure 100% data accuracy in each deliverable

- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, actionable insights and strategic guidance to clients

- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and findings to a non-technical audience

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

- Experience with statistical analysis software, such as SPSS or SAS, is a plus

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of adaptability and resilience

- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry experts
